□ January 21, 2022 Press Release : Celebration of First Anniversary of Inauguration of Jin-wook Kim as Chief Prosecutor of Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials
□ The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (hereinafter the “CIO,” Chief Prosecutor Jin-wook Kim) held a celebration for the first anniversary of the inauguration of Chief Prosecutor of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials on January 21 at 2 p.m. (Fri)
ㅇ The event, consisting of the Pledge of Allegiance (5 minutes), a welcome speech by Chief Prosecutor (10 minutes) and photo time (5 minutes), was held on the second floor of the main conference room with Chief Prosecutor, Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Director of Bureaus, Department heads and prosecutors in attendance
ㅇ Strict precautionary measures were taken in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as limiting participation to those that received vaccination, and the number of guests was also kept to a minimum
□ In his commemorative address for the first anniversary of his inauguration, Chief Prosecutor Kim expressed his determination to restore the original intention of the organization while reflecting the national interests and expectations of eradicating corruption in the public sector and putting a check on authority
ㅇ Chief Prosecutor Kim emphasized that he will actively execute regulatory functions in investigations as Chief Prosecutor while creating a new organizational culture and investigation system in order not to “create controversy over neutrality by not involving myself in the prosecution of cases”
